Tapestries...

My most favorite tapestry :-)
Created on the loom above, this tapestry is called My Lumpy, Bumpy Mountain. Inspired by Mount Diablo (which lives behind my house, and for which it bears no true resemblance) this tapestry became very bulgy due to the textured yarns I used. So I stuffed it! And its still my favorite piece!

This much larger tapestry was created on my 46" Gilmore floor loom. I call it Echo because of the tripple sunsets that just "happened" as I wove it.

This one, too, was done on the Gilmore. Called "Purple Mountain". I guess you could say I'm inspired by Mt. Diablo, even though none of my tapestries (yet) actually looks like Mt. Diablo!

I took ongoing Adult Ed Handweaving classes on Wednesday afternoons in Pleasant Hill, CA for several years! My instructor, Patricia Johnson (no relation) is an exceptionally talented teacher and weaver. She also volunteers her time on Tuesday mornings in Concord helping people learn to weave on a floor loom, through Adult Ed "Life Enrichment", a free class for adults over 55 years of age. Pat has taught me everything I know about weaving.
